TRIMARK PICTURES AND WORLD EVENTS PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCE EXCLUSIVE NORTH AMERICAN HOME VIDEO DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT Hit Kids Show Voltron: The Third Dimension and Voltron: Defender of the Universe Comes Home To Fans For The First Time Marina Del Rey, CA - April 20, 2000 - Trimark Pictures and World Events Productions, Ltd. announced today that the two companies have entered into an exclusive distribution agreement for the Emmy Award-winning series, Voltron: The Third Dimension and Voltron: Defender of the Universe. Under the new deal, Trimark Home Video will release at least 12 new episodes of Voltron: The Third Dimension and will release selected episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe. Trimark Home Video will also distribute a "making of" the Voltron series on home video. Produced entirely in the United States, Voltron: The Third Dimension is a revolutionary kid's show utilizing full computer-generated animation as well as motion-capture technology. The half-hour show, one of the top-rated weekly syndicated series in the U.S. among teens and kids aged 2 to 11, is currently broadcast on leading stations throughout the U.S. including WPIX/New York, KCOP/Los Angeles, WFLD/Chicago, and KPLR/St. Louis. Internationally, the series has sold in Canada, Mexico, Italy, Korea, and Australia, among others. The classic series, Voltron: Defender of the Universe, was a mega hit in the 1980's and had a recent run on the Cartoon Network. As a result of the popular series, Trendmasters has produced a line of Voltron toys and action figures. "Kids around the world know and love the Voltron series, and we're excited by the prospects of translating that success to video, " said Peter Block, Executive Vice President Distribution, Acquisitions and New Media, Trimark Pictures. "Voltron was a huge hit and a cultural phenomenon in the eighties and World Events has done a great job of updating the series for a new generation of kids.
